Bound Brook Issues Artist Survey Bound Brook Cultural Arts Committee and Bound Brook Revitalization Partnership have announced a new Artist Survey they hope will identify the borough's growing number of artists and arts organizations.

"Bound Brook is home to many outstanding artists of all genres," says Erica Restrepo, a member of the Cultural Arts Committee. "We want to hear their ideas on how to expand and enhance the arts in our community."

In addition to compiling information on individual artists, groups and businesses, the two-page survey seeks input on ways to better promote and develop the arts in Bound Brook.

"The arts landscape is constantly impacted by changes in technology, demographics and other social and economic factors," says Lawrence McCullough, downtown manager of Bound Brook Revitalization Partnership. "We want to hear first-hand from our artists how their art can thrive in our community."

Copies of the Bound Brook Artist Survey are available at Bound Brook Library and Bound Brook Borough Hall and can be downloaded from https://www.downtownboundbrook.com/artist-survey or received via mail by calling (732) 667-3939.

Bound Brook has several venues that present a diverse schedule of arts and heritage events throughout the year including Brook Arts Center in the historic Brook Theater, Hamilton Street Gallery, Bound Brook Public Library and live music spots like Westbrook Restaurant and Bar specializing in rock and folk performers and Trackside Bar & Grill and Café Imperial, nightclubs that host international Latin American acts throughout the year.

The borough's biggest public art event, the annual Bound Brook Art and Music Fair, returns to downtown Bound Brook on Saturday, Sept. 15. Presented by Bound Brook Cultural Arts Committee and Bound Brook Revitalization Partnership in cooperation with the Borough of Bound Brook, this year's fair features an Arts Stage with Alborada Dance Theatre, Asociación Cultural Pasion Peru NJ, St. Anna Church Greek Orthodox Dance Troupe, Latin Fusion, Scarlet Mambo Dance Duo, Second Story Band, Hiphop/African Dance Workshop with Tatianna J, Swing Dance Workshop with Let's Swing NJ and a Swing-and-Salsa Social with New York recording artists Metrotang Band.

Bound Brook Art and Music Fair has booth openings for artists and non-profit groups until Sept. 5, with full festival information at https://www.downtownboundbrook.com/events-calendar.

"We know there are many artists creating great work in Bound Brook today," says Bound Brook councilman Abel Gomez, who serves on the Cultural Arts Committee as council liaison. "The Artist Survey will help us identify them and provide wider recognition of their work in the community and beyond."
