Larger-than-life puppets provide a new twist on a fairytale classic. Bits 'N Pieces Theatre brings its colorful adaptation, THE UGLY DUCKING, STARRING PINKY FLAMINGO to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre Saturday, Mar. 12 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

In this high energy musical version of the Hans Christian Andersen story, nine-foot-tall puppets and actress Holli Rubin sing and dance as they teach youngsters lessons of kindness and self-esteem. Pinky is a perky, hot pink Florida flamingo who is indeed a bird of a "different feather." Hatched by a couple of very proper Polar Penguin parents, Pinky does everything that she can to fit in. She learns, in the process, that being true to oneself is the only path to true happiness.

Tickets are $8 for students and children, and $10 for adults. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible. For a complete listing of adult and children's events, visit the Kelsey website.
