Bickford Theatre Announces Schedule Of Summer Series

The Bickford Theatre is pleased to announce the schedule for this year's Summer Theatre Series for Children. The popular series opens Saturday, July 12 and runs throughout the month. Children of all ages can enjoy a wonderful selection of performing arts presentations including talking parrots, break dancing, a "rock" concert and even a magic carpet ride!
 
Performances at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. allow families and children a relief from the summer heat with an entertaining afternoon in the cool Bickford Theatre.
 
Individual tickets are $8 for Morris Museum members, $9 for the general public and $7 for groups of 20 or more. Admission to the Morris Museum is not included in the ticket price. For same day admission, present your ticket stub at the museum's admissions desk for a special discount. Group rates are also available.
 
The Bickford is happy to offer "Two-by-Two Series" subscriptions, allowing you to create your own mini-series that best suits your schedule. Simply choose four performances that you would like to attend and save up to 10% off individual ticket prices. Subscriptions are $28 for Morris Museum members and $32 for the general public.

Desert Travels
Treehouseshakers Dance

Desert Travels is a performance mosaic of modern dance, storytelling and live music that will sweep audiences across the desert on a magic carpet ride! Join in these heart-warming Middle Eastern folktales as rats marry princesses, storks speak and the desert sand becomes a tent, lending lessons of generosity, forgiveness and cooperation.

Virginia, 1616:  Dance with John Smith, chant with Chief Powhatan, harvest the planting mounds and test one's bravery in a bat filled cave as you help Pocahontas prepare for her vision quest.

Ghost Net: An Environmental Musical of the Sea
Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children's Theater
Ages: 4 –12
This is the story of Marina, a young girl who is taken by a friendly dolphin on a fantastic tour of the ocean, where she discovers the harmful effects that plastic trash, enveloping oil spills, garbage and the deadly, drifting ghost nets have on creatures of the sea. Humor and music abound as the black-backed gull sings the blues, the tropical fish dance and sing a calypso number and "Sludge" performs a rap song.

Harlem Wizards

A perennial crowd pleaser---Basketball comedy is at its best in this hilarious performance.  Kids of all ages will be amazed by the crazy antics of the Harlem Wizards! Watch as they demonstrate their skill and agility with a basketball during musical routines that will have the audience clapping, cheering and stomping their feet.

About the Bickford Theatre
The Bickford Theatre is professional theatre located within the Morris Museum at 6 Normandy Heights Road, (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ. 
The theatre is a member of Theatre Communications Group and New Jersey Theatre Alliance, the consortium of New Jersey professional theatres.  Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with walk-up service Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Bickford Theatre is fully accessible and offers occasional audio description, as well as assisted listening devices for all performances.
