Broadway legend Bernadette Peters joins the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) for "An Evening with Bernadette Peters," the final program in the NJSO's 2011–12 POPS series, on Saturday, June 2, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark.

"Bernadette Peters has no peer in the musical theatre right now," The New York Times writes of the dynamic vocalist and actress, who will bring a program of Broadway standards and surprises to the NJSO stage. Peters will perform some of the most memorable songs in her extensive catalogue, with her longtime conductor Marvin Laird at the podium. Gerald Steichen conducts the first-half orchestra program.

The performance takes place on Saturday, June 2, (8 p.m.) at NJPAC in Newark.
