Review: Ritz Theatre's MARY POPPINS Soars! ImageJust how many times can one be thrilled with this overly- produced production?... as many times as your heart is moved by a talented cast and creative team such as the one that mounted this wonderful classic.

It's the perfect summer show, a great story that's engaging for the whole family." explains Ritz Theatre Co. Producing Artistic Director Bruce Curless. "Plus it fulfills our mission of bringing quality storytelling to our community. We are also thrilled that the show is directed by Brian Rivell, who is both a veteran actor and director here at The Ritz, and who specifically requested to direct this show for The Ritz!" Rivell certainly proves his worth with an action- packed flawlessly timed and choreographed production. Rivell also designed the staging. Each ensemble scene is show stopping and casting is more than terrific.

The Banks children, Cassidy Scherz (Jane Banks) and Colin Rivell (Michael Banks) never miss a step or a line which are easily delivered by the two. Jenna Lubas is a wonderful Mrs. Banks whose voice is stunning. Paul McElwee (Mr. Banks) is impressive and entirely suited for the role. C.J. Kish's Bert is a lively and loveable teller of tales and Kaitlyn Delengowski's Bird Woman is compelling. The Bank's house staff Miss Brill and Robertson Ay played respectively by Anne Buckwheat and Darrin Murphy round out the fun with their entertaining antics, as does the wickedly funny Kendra Cancellieri Hecker as Miss Andrews.

Review: Ritz Theatre's MARY POPPINS Soars! ImageThis ensemble- heavy show handles the singing and dancing numbers faultlessly. The "Step in Time" number and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" do NOT disappoint! A standout performance is given by Ryann Ferrara as Neleus. The entire show flows nicely from scene to scene and the flying is especially enjoyable.

Remember it from your childhood and share it as an adult. Every tune, every melody comes to life again - A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim ChimCher-ee, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and all of your favorites!

MARY POPPINS plays at the Ritz Theatre, 915 White Horse Pike, Haddon Township, NJ 08107. For tickets and more information visit www.ritztheatreco.org or call: 856-858-5230
