The last thing one expects is a ballet about a hurricane and an English rock group yet the Atlantic City Ballet stays true to giving audiences the unexpected by presenting two ballets that explore both.

The Atlantic City Ballet starts its fall season with a special five-year anniversary performance of In the Eye of the Storm. Created in 2013 after Super Storm Sandy, this ballet explores the impact of nature on mankind and the resilience of spirit that enables people to overcome and transcend even the most devastating circumstances. Inspired by area Sandy Survivors, it brings the message of hope to all people who are affected by events that are out of their control.

On the same program is Impressions, choreographed to the music by the Beatles brings the feeling of that era to life and captures the athleticism, freedom and passion of the company's dancers. This ballet set to the instrumental versions of some of the Beatles iconic songs includes such classics as Here Comes The Sun, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and Michele. Impressions is making its debut after a 5 year absence from the ballet's line up and opened to rave reviews and critical praise when it premiered in 2012.

Founded in 1982, by International Ballerina, Phyllis Papa, the Atlantic City Ballet is comprised of professional dancers from around the world and have earned national acclaim for their technical expertise and exuberant stage presence. Although their home base is in Historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, the Ballet has performed in theaters all along the east coast. Their repertoire of original works includes such classics as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake but, Ms. Papa is most known for her innovative works such as Dracula, Caught Up In The Swing and her full length Carmen. Since its inception, the Atlantic City Ballet has served as one of the cultural treasures of New Jersey and continues a tradition of dance excellence for future generations of ballet audiences.
