Littleton, NH: Theatre UP invites audiences to the musical comedy Company presented at the Littleton Opera House from February 6 - 15. Sondheim's game-changing musical is a sophisticated and honest look at modern adult relationships. From musical theatre's most renowned composer, Company is largely regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre and the winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics and Best Book.

On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor, Robert, contemplates his unmarried state. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks, and even a wedding, his friends help him examine the pros and cons of taking on a spouse. The habitually single Robert is forced to question his adamant retention of bachelorhood during a hilarious array of interactions. Company features an energetic score containing many of Stephen Sondheim's best known songs. Known for its vivid yet real characters, every audience member will see reflections of themselves in the relationships that Robert witnesses and explores.

Company is directed and choreographed by UP Artistic Director Andrew Lidestri, whose love of complex characters and Sondheim's music fuels the heart of this production. Company's talented cast of 14 is led by UP regular Jonathan Verge as Robert, and the entire team is excited to bring this funny and poignant production to our community. Kristen Bushway’s musical direction and leading of our live orchestra will leave audiences humming famous Sondheim tunes like "Being Alive” and “Not Getting Married Today”.

Huge thanks to our show sponsor, Suzanne Hopgood on behalf of her late father, George McAvoy, for helping us to bring Company to the Opera House stage!
