The Capital Jazz Orchestra helps ring in the holidays in grand style when it returns to the historic Capitol Center for the Arts in Downtown Concord on Sunday, December 17 for its annual Holiday Pops event. The event features guest vocalists CJ Poole and Laura Daigle, along with narrator Laura Knoy of NHPR who will be reciting her traditional version of 'The Night Before Christmas.' In addition, The Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School Choir will be joining the CJO for some classic renditions of seasonal favorites. The performance is sponsored by Northeast Delta Dental.

Peterborough Players Present MET Opera's The Exterminating Angel. Following the rapturous response to his last opera, The Tempest, the Met presents the American premiere of Thomas Ad s's The Exterminating Angel, inspired by the classic Luis Bu uel film of the same name. The Exterminating Angel is a surreal fantasy about a dinner party from which the guests can't escape. Tom Cairns, who wrote the libretto, directs the new production, and Ad s conducts his own adventurous new opera. The production includes soprano Audrey Luna, who sings a high A in The Exterminating Angel, a note that has never been sung before in the history of the Met.

Pontine Theatre opens its 40th Season with a solo staging of T. S. Eliot's FOUR QUARTETS performed by John Farrell. Mr. Farrell is the founding co-director of Portland Maine's celebrated Figures of Speech Theater. Performances are: Today 3 November at 7pm; Saturday 4 November at 4pm; and Sunday 5 November at 2pm. Tickets are $24 and may be purchased online at www.pontine.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door a half-hour prior to each performance, based on availability.
