Stratford Festival & Stage Russia Added to River Street Theatre Series.

By:

Jaffrey's River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre, announced today they are adding the acclaimed Stratford Festival, as well as Stage Russia HD to their Stage2Screen Series. This special series features theatrical stage productions (plays, musicals, operas, events) from around the globe captured in ultra high definition for cinema presentation.

The Stratford Festival, based in Stratford, Ontario, Canada has been producing some of the most heralded productions of William Shakespeare's plays for the past 65 years. The River Street Theatre will present 5 of their recent productions: King Lear (June 11 & 12), Macbeth (July 30 & 31), Love's Labour's Lost (August 6 & 7), King John (August 20 & 21) and finally, Christopher Plummer as Prospero in The Tempest (September 7-9).

Stage Russia films productions from Russia's most renowned theatre companies and distributes them throughout the globe. They are presented in Russian with English subtitles. RST Stage2Screen will begin with 2 Anton Chekhov plays this season: The Cherry Orchard (June 4 & 5) and The Black Monk (July 16 & 17). Next, a modern dance interpretation of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina (August 13 & 14). Finally, the Russian series will conclude with a newly reimagined production of Alexander Pushkin's classic poem, Eugene Onegin (September 17 & 18).

"We are privileged and honored to bring these two renowned series to the Monadnock Region," said Steve Jackson, CEO and Managing Director of The Park Theatre. "They are a wonderful complement to the existing Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera & Royal Ballet and Kenneth Branagh Theatre Live HD events. We have placed them all under one banner called Stage2Screen. We look forward to moving all of these series to The Park Theatre once it is open." added Jackson.

Tickets for Stage2Screen events are $20 each (students and teachers with ID: $15). More program and schedule information as well as ticket purchases can be found at www.theparktheatre.org or by calling the RST Box Office (603) 532-8888.
