Peterborough Players to Present MANET: PORTRAYING LIFE for 'Great Art on Screen' Series, 4/11
The Peterborough Players will present Manet: Portraying Life, on Thursday, April 11, at 8:00 pm, as the first in a new theatrical series of events, bringing the world's great art exhibitions to cinema screens worldwide. The series entitled EXHIBITION: Great Art on Screen will feature the world's foremost upcoming art exhibitions, creatively captured especially for the big screen. EXHIBITION begins with a career-encompassing collection of the works of Edouard Manet from the Royal Academy of Arts, London. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
The second is a "once-in-a-lifetime" exhibition of the greatest number of Edvard Munch's works ever from the Munch Museum and National Museum, Oslo. Munch 150 will be shown on Sunday, June 30, at 7:00 pm. The third exhibition, set for screenings on Thursday, October 10, at 8:00 pm, takes place at the National Gallery in London where audiences will see a unique perspective on the masterpieces of Johannes Vermeer. This exhibition is entitled Vermeer and Music.
Each Event Film, hosted by art historian Tim Marlow, will go beyond the gallery with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
