Peterborough Players Open their Arts on Screen Season with THE THREEPENNY OPERA

By:

Mack the Knife is back in town. A darkly comic new take on Brecht and Weill's raucous musical broadcast live from the stage of the National Theatre. London scrubs up for the coronation. The thieves are on the make, the whores on the pull, the police cutting deals to keep it all out of sight. Mr. and Mrs. Peachum are looking forward to a bumper day in the beggary business, but their daughter didn't come home last night and it's all about to kick off... The Threepenny Opera features Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear (Hamlet, Othello, James Bond), as Macheath.

The Threepenny Opera will be presented in high definition at the Peterborough Players on Sunday, October 2 at 1pm. The production runtime is 2 hours 40 minutes with one 20 minute intermission. Contains scenes of a sexual nature, violence and strong language. Rated R.

National Theatre Live tickets are $20 each and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 603-924-7585 or online atwww.peterboroughplayers.org. The Peterborough Players theatre is handicapped accessible, is equipped with a hearing assistance system and is located at 55 Hadley Rd, Peterborough, NH 03458
