Palace Theatre Announces DANCE OFF

By:

The Palace Theatre today announced that it is searching New Hampshire for dancers through an exclusive competition. To enter, dancers (16 and over) should submit contact details and a 60-second dance video between October 10, 2011 and January 1, 2012 to danceoff.nh@gmail.com.

Semi-finalists will appear in a Dance Off at the Palace Theatre in January 2012. The last dancer standing will win a $1,000 contract and join a professional cast with dancers from New York City in the Palace Theatre original production, Royalty of Rock n' Pop, February 17 through March 3, 2012.

Royalty of Rock n' Pop, a follow up to last year's highly praised, The Four Piano Men, is an original Palace Theatre production and a tribute to the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley performed by top vocalists and dancers straight from auditions in NYC! The show will take the audience on a trip through the accomplishments of two of the most influential entertainers of all time.

"This is a great opportunity for area dancers to be part of the magic of a live theatre performance in front of family and friends and compete for the opportunity to get his/her first professional dance contract," states Carl Rajotte, Palace Theatre Artistic Director.
It is also a fantastic resume-building opportunity for dancers. The winner and his/her associated dance studio will be included in Palace Theatre Royalty of Rock n' Pop marketing and press materials. "It's just great fun and great exposure," adds Rajotte.

For additional information regarding the competition date or submissions, contact Natalie McKnight at the Palace Theatre (603) 668-5588.
The Palace Theatre is a professional, nonprofit performing arts center committed to delivering the highest quality productions, enriching the lives of our citizens through cultural and educational opportunities for performers and audiences of all ages, and encouraging an appreciation for theatre, music and dance.
