Capitol Center to Open New Salon Series with The Metropolis Ensemble's BROWNSTONE, 10/5

By:

The Capitol Center will inaugurate its new Salon Series with a performance of Brownstone by The Metropolis Ensemble on Sunday, October 5, at 6pm. Brownstone is a site-specific electro-acoustic composition/installation by Jakub Ciupinski that will be performed throughout the historic, Victorian-era Kimball House at the Capitol Center for the Arts.

Members of Metropolis Ensemble will be performing in various rooms, allowing the audience to explore and choose their own experience of the piece. An electronic soundscape will fill halls and stairways creating a rhythmic and colorful sonic tapestry, blending with the various instruments in different ways depending on your location. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening, with opportunities to interact with the artists and other audience members.

Metropolis Ensemble is a professional chamber orchestra and ensemble dedicated to making classical music in its most contemporary forms. Led by Grammy-nominated conductor Andrew Cyr, Metropolis Ensemble gathers today's most outstanding emerging composers and young artists to produce unique concert experiences.

This performance is part of the Capitol Center's Salon Series, bringing artists and audiences together for thought-provoking lectures and performances in the intimate, Victorian-era Kimball house

Tickets for this unique experiential performance on October 5 are $50, including hors d'oeuvres & drinks Tickets are available now by calling 603-225-1111, online at www.ccanh.com, and at the box office, located at 44 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Saturday hours after Labor Day)
