Dutch musical actress Willemijn Verkaik, best known for playing Elphaba in worldwide productions of WICKED, will take a break from her world-record run of 1000+ performances as Elphaba, to star in the Stuttgart production of MAMMA MIA.

Verkaik ended her Broadway run as Elphaba on May 26th and will resume the role in London's West End on November 18th. In the meanwhile she will be playing the leading role of Donna in MAMMA MIA from tonight, July 26th.

Venue for MAMMA MIA will be the Palladium Theatre in Stuttgart, which is also the theatre where Verkaik was first seen as Elphaba, back in 2007. In fact, MAMMA MIA preceded WICKED, playing the Palladium Theatre from 2004 to 2007.
