Mark Rietman To Star In SHERLOCK HOLMES with REP Entertainment
The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery will be touring throughout the Netherlands starting mid-November 2026.
REP Entertainment is once again bringing a murder mystery to the stage with Sherlock Holmes on tour in the Netherlands. In this production, Mark Rietman plays the role of Sherlock Holmes. He is assisted by Ferdi Stofmeel (Doctor Watson), Myrthe Burger, Finn Poncin, Lois Senger, Marthe Ledegang, and Benjamin Jas. Peggy Vrijens and Fockeline Ouwerkerk share the role of Irene Adler. The script was written by Jibbe Willems and directed by Jasper Verheugd.
"Sherlock Holmes is the world's most famous detective, and there are few people who capture the imagination quite like him," says Rick Engelkes, producer at REP Entertainment. "The past few seasons have shown that the Dutch audience loves these intriguing mysteries. The big question in every performance is therefore: Who has the solution first: the audience or Sherlock Holmes, who always says: 'How often have I told you that when you have ruled out the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'"

When a famous woman dies under suspicious circumstances, the case seems quickly solved. The culprit appears to have been found, and everything points to a logical, coherent story. But Sherlock Holmes is not satisfied with that. His instinct tells him there is more at play. Together with Dr. Watson, he delves deeper into the case. As Holmes and Watson unravel the puzzle piece by piece, it becomes clear that there is more to this case than just a crime. Old feelings, unspoken desires, and unexpected connections make the mystery more personal than Holmes would like.
