“Homohop” ontstond in de jaren ’70 als een krachtig antwoord op homofobie binnen de rap- en hiphopscene. Queer artiesten en liefhebbers gebruikten de term om hun plek op te eisen in een cultuur die hen vaak buitensloot — en om te laten zien dat hiphop ook hoon verhaal kon vertellen.
