Dutch John Kraaijkamp Musical Award Winners Announced

On Sunday October 2nd the winners of the 12th annual John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards, the leading Dutch theatre awards, were announced during a live television special. The award ceremony took place in the recently opened DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam.

The Dutch musical Petticoat, written by Henny Vrienten and André Breedland and which opened exactly one year ago to critical acclaim, won the most awards of the evening: seven.

The winners were chosen by a special committee, consisting of previous winners, members of the public, performing arts teachers and producers.

The winners are:

- Best Small-scale musical:
Urinetown
- Leading actress in a large musical:
Lone van Roosendaal - Zorro
- Leading actor in a large musical:
Jon van Eerd - La Cage aux Folles
- Leading actress in a small musical:
Abke Bruins - Je Anne
- Leading actor in a smal musical:
Alex Klaasen - Toon
- Supporting actress in a large musical:
Marjolijn Touw - Petticoat
- Supporting actor in a large musical:
Hajo Bruins - Petticoat
- Supporting actress in a small musical:
Henriëtte Tol - Spring Awakening
- Supporting actor in a small musical:
Ad Knippels - Spring Awakening
- New Talent:
Michelle van de Ven - Spring Awakening
- Director:
Theu Boermans - Soldaat van Oranje
Paul Eenens - Petticoat
