Walking Across Egypt is a Southern comedy adapted by Catherine Bush from the novel by Clyde Edgerton, set in a small North Carolina town in the 1980s. The story follows Mattie Rigsbee, a spunky woman whose encounter with a stray dog leads her into the lives of troubled teenager Wesley Benfield and a world of car theft, prison breaks, and unexpected family bonds. Patty Payne stars as Mattie Rigsbee, with Evan Lisic and Zachary Simpson sharing the role of Wesley Benfield, and the cast includes Daniel Black, Lauren Marshall, Jason Ross, Caleb Sager, Michael Ruff, and Jeremiah Ordway. The production is directed by Weslie Webster and is rated PG.
