Towne Centre Theatre to Present BLACK TIE BROADWAY

A Broadway revue is coming to Brentwood's Towne Centre Theatre this month for a night of show tunes that span the decades. BLACK TIE BROADWAY, arranged and directed by local theatre actor John Ray and choreographed by Katharine Boettcher, will open Jan. 29th and feature a 13-person ensemble that will sing, dance and bring the stage to life.

The title BLACK TIE BROADWAY comes from classic tuxedo styles found in Broadway. The cast consists of four men, who will be dressed in tuxedos, and nine women, who will be dressed in gowns. The title of the show and the formal attire to be worn by the cast are indicative of those days when attending a show on Broadway was a very formal affair.

The cast will perform numbers from before Broadway became what it is today to current time. Songs to be performed include All That Jazz from "Chicago;" Some Enchanted Evening from "South Pacific;" Book Report from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown;" Someone Like You from "Jekyll and Hyde;" Agony from "Into the Woods;" and Defying Gravity" from "Wicked."

Cast includes Will Lasley, Danielle Threet, Lauren Martin, Ed Evins, Vanessa Londino, Kate Murphy Johnston, Howard Snyder, Kelly Dutton, Christy Hathcock, Abigail Haggard, Shawn Davie, Olivia Skurka and Kamryn Boyd.

BLACK TIE BROADWAY opens January 29th and runs through February 13th. Tickets go on sale Jan. 15th and can be purchased online at www.townecentretheatre.tix.com or by calling (615) 221-1174. Show times are 8:00 pm for evening performances and 2:30 pm for Sunday. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain. Tickets are $16 for students, $18 for seniors 60 and over, and $20 for adults. Purchase a specially priced Thursday 4-pack of tickets online and get four tickets for only $60; available online only. Group rates are also available.
