The Theater Bug Announces 2nd Annual Bug Ball Image

The Theater Bug, a Nashville-based children's theater company will host their annual Bug Ball fundraiser on April 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Noah Liff Opera Center. The benefit dinner will be hosted by Drew & Jonathan Scott of HGTV's Property Brothers.

"The Bug Ball will be a magical and inspiring evening of entertainment, featuring cocktails, dinner, music, a silent auction and breathtaking musical performances by surprise guest artists, as well as some of the Bug's very own locally grown talent, many of whom have launched professional careers in the performing arts," said Cori Anne Laemmel, The Theater Bug's Artistic Director and Founder. "Our goal is to demonstrate the transformative power of young people in the performing arts, raise funds to support the Bug's free and low-cost programming, and introduce new patrons to The Theater Bug."

The Bug Ball's Masters of Ceremonies, Drew & Jonathan Scott, are from HGTV's original series, Property Brothers, where they help home buyers purchase and renovate "fixer-uppers." Event chair is Kortney Wilson of HGTV's Masters of Flip.

The Bug Ball is April 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Noah Liff Opera Center, 3622 Redmon Street, Nashville. Tickets are $1000 for a table of eight.

The Theater Bug, affectionately known as "The Bug," is a Nashville-based non-profit that is creating community, building confidence, and transforming lives through theater. Consistently playing to sold-out audiences, the Bug performs original works that deftly explore themes of critical significance to today's youth, such as childhood illness, autism and special needs, adoption, teen depression and suicide. The Theater Bug's mission is to inspire young people and audiences to create community and build confidence - encouraging them through educational experiences in the performing arts.

Founded by actress and playwright Cori Anne Laemmel, who serves as The Bug's Artistic Director, The Theater Bug offers high-quality, free and low-cost programming throughout the year, including professional instruction, performance camps, playwriting intensives, and the production of original full length plays and musicals.
