Tennessee Rep Kicks off Season at The Standard 7/23

Tennessee Repertory Theatre will partner with The Standard restaurant and Nashville Scene for a special event to kick-off its 2010-11 season of live, professional theatre. The evening-titled "Nashville Scenes"--will feature staged readings of scenes from Tennessee Rep's upcoming season and heavy hors d'oeuvres and will be held Friday, July 23 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Standard (167 Rosa L. Parks Blvd) downtown.
"Our first ‘Nashville Scenes' kick-off celebration was such a success last summer that the event was something Tennessee Rep wanted to continue annually," says Tennessee Rep Producing Artistic Director René D. Copeland. "It is great way for us to connect with the community, and we're really looking forward to launching our season with a party that will share a little taste of upcoming productions with folks who support Tennessee Rep and enjoy live theatre."Tennessee Rep's 2010-11 season features the following:· To Kill a Mockingbird adapted by Christopher Sergel from the classic novel by Harper Lee· A Christmas Story adapted by Phillip Grecian based on the motion picture by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark
· Yankee Tavern by Steven Dietz
· Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the movie of Alfred Hitchcock
· Pump Boys and Dinettes created by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann
