By: BWW News Desk
Adapted from the best-selling novel, a smash hit on Broadway with Paul Newman, and winner of a Tony Award, The Desperate Hours is a story of a home invaded by three escaped criminals that is based on actual events.
It is 8:30AM on October 25th, 1985. Dan Hilliard is leaving for his office. 48 hours later, his home will be the site of four murders. Nobody who survives will ever be the same. The Hilliards are a comfortable Midwestern family. Dan works in a local store, Ellie works from home. Their eldest daughter is studying law and their 12 year-old son plays ball and is obsessed with video games. Out of nowhere their American Dream becomes a nightmare when three escaped convicts use their home as a means to evade the law for a few more hours. The family is subjected to their warped demands; their morals are pushed to the limits, and each one of them is forced to participate in the trio's twisted game.Videos
