Street Theatre Company presents an original musical version of Alice in Wonderland this summer, featuring 45 area youth, and some of Nashville's favorites from the local acting community.
In a unique re-telling of this classic tale, local playwright Scott Hutcheson went back to the original "Alice Underground" for inspiration in his adaptation. Additionally, local theatre artist Cori Laemmel, who is also directing the production, created the original songs for the performance. The result is a refreshing new look at the class coming-of-age story. The show is a result of a free five week youth program, thanks in part to a grant from the Metro Nashville Arts Commission and a partnership with the Dalewood United Methodist Church. During the camp, 45 area youth work with local professional artists including Brad Oxnam as the Mad Hatter, Bakari King as the Caterpillar, and Charlie Abernathy as the Dormouse. The show also features Rosemary Fossee as Alice.ABOUT STREET THEATRE COMPANY
