n this musical based on the 1950 film, an aging star of silent films longs to return to the big screen having faded from notoriety with the invention of "talkies." When she meets a struggling Hollywood screenwriter, the two begin to work on a script to revive her career. The passionate and tumultuous relationship that ensues leads to an unforeseen conclusion. Winner of the 1995 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Sunset Boulevard is directed by Robert Hetherington (Present Laughter) and features Resident Company Member Carla McDonald (Ragtime; The Drowsy Chaperone) as "Norma Desmond" with Justin Asher (Spitfire Grill), Bill Andrews (Frost/Nixon), Robert Hanford, Claire Hayner (Present Laughter), Joshua Quinn (In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play), Nick Lerew (The Hot L Baltimore), and Jason Spitzer (1776).

Sunset Boulevard runs January 25 - February 17 at Playhouse on the Square. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 2PM, with the exception of Sunday, February 10th, which begins at 8PM due to the Unified Professional Theatre Auditions. The Pay What You Can performance is Thursday, January 31st at 8PM. Playhouse on the Square is located at 66 S. Cooper Street in Midtown.
