Rehearsals are under way at Nashville Children's Theatre for it's upcoming production of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Based on the book by Judith Viorst, it's described as "a singing, dancing good time for you and your family."

With book and lyrics by Viorst, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day features music composed by Shelly Markham, and opens at NCT on Tuesday, October 27, continuing its run through January 3.

According to an NCT press release: "Alexander knows it is going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day when he wakes up with gum in his hair, and he is right! Things only get worse as the day goes on: his best friend bails on him, there's no dessert in his lunch bag, there's lima beans for dinner and kissing on TV! The only reasonable response is to move to Australia. Judith Viorst adapted her own award-winning children's book into a marvelous musical that is wacky, wild, and wonderfully wise!"

The cast of NCT's production includes Rona Carter, Ross Brooks, Henry Haggard, Peter Vann, Patrick Waller, Lisa Kimmey Winans and Bobby Wyckoff.

Tickets are available by calling (615) 254-9103, ext. 210, or by visiting NCT's website at www.nashvillechildrenstheatre.org.
