Nashville Little Theatre (formerly Nashville Theaterworks) will hold open auditions this weekend for a community theater production of A Christmas Carol, the Charles Dickens classic.
Production requirements call for 12 men, 12 women and as many as 15 children. Children must be over five years of age and accompanied by a parent (or authorized guardian) at all times. Auditions will be held on Friday October 2, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, October 4, at 2 p.m. in the Donelson Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 2319 Lebanon Road in Nashville.
Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. This is an original stage adaptation of the story and the role of Ebenezer Scrooge is not available for audition. All other roles are available. Women will portray all of the ghosts. Three young women speaking sequentially and moving in dance portray the Ghost of Christmas Past. Classical dance training is a plus for these roles. This is a non-musical version of the story.
Rehearsals will begin On October 5 and be conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evening from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The show will open on November 27 and run three weekends with performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
