The entertainment extravaganza is an interactive journey presented in theatrical dance, variety acts, acrobatic agility and circus acts displaying heroic courage guided by a troupe of internationally accredited performers who dance the story of New York City’s journey through the last 12 months. Immersed in music, uplifted by dance and driven by renewal, review performances are set for Thursday, July 1, through Saturday, July 10, with the world premiere slated for Sunday, July 11, at 7 p.m. The production will run through Monday, Sept. 6. “The Ride is an iconic entertainment experience and we are thrilled to host the show’s return to New York City at Empire Outlets,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners. “The show is a spectacular addition to the new offerings we are introducing at Empire Outlets this summer. We invite New Yorkers to come experience The Ride followed by a great dinner at newly opened Clinton Hall’s expansive outdoor deck with views overlooking the Manhattan skyline.” “The Ride is deeply appreciative and artistically energized by Empire Outlets’ warm welcome,” said Humphrey. “Teamed together, we will keep our ‘Eyes on New York,’ in creating New York’s 2021 premiere destination in this summer of renewal.”

Gideon is here to take us into the weekend with “Carolina in My Mind”. The song was original written and performed by James Taylor in 1968. He wrote the song while he was overseas recording for the Beatles’ label Apple Records. It reflects his homesickness at the time.

Interview: Erinn Crittenden of CINDERELLA at Mimi Ohio Theatre

For almost as long as this current iteration of the Cleveland Ballet has existed, dancer Erinn Crittenden has been a fixture. With her bright eyes, million-watt smile, and an affinity for playing charismatic characters, including the fiery street dancer Mercedes in Don Quixote, Collette in Dracula, Red Riding Hood in The Sleeping Beauty, and the comedic Grandmother in The Nutcracker and Tweedle Dee in Alice in Wonderland, Crittenden has endeared herself to Northeast Ohio audiences.

Review: Absence of Chalice: MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT at Fox Theatre, St. Louis

Raunchy, camp, silly, and idiotic, this quest for the Holy Grail could not be more hilarious. Pairing a talented cast with earworm-worthy ditties like I Am Not Dead Yet and Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, makes Monty Python’s Spamalot fantastic fun!

Industry Pro Newsletter: IATSE Takes on the Kennedy Center — and Touring Theatre's Crisis in the UK Deepens

This week's theater news spans awards season milestones, legal disputes, labor tensions, and the business challenges facing the art form on both sides of the Atlantic. The 2026 Tony nominations are in — with Schmigadoon! and The Lost Boys leading the pack. Voting is also now open for BroadwayWorld's own Theater Fans' Choice Awards. On a more turbulent note, a fire at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre has shuttered The Book of Mormon through at least May 17, a second lawsuit has been filed against the producers of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, and IATSE is accusing the Kennedy Center of using its upcoming temporary closure as cover to permanently eliminate union jobs. Regionally, The Naples Players have secured a multi-year grant to expand paid apprenticeships for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. And internationally, The Stage examines whether the UK touring sector — where the number of touring plays has fallen 64% since 2019 — can find a path forward through its mounting financial and structural pressures.

Review: TRAVIATA May Not Be in Opera’s ABCs But Jaho Gives Lesson in Making It Her Own

Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho wasn’t the first Violetta of this season’s LA TRAVIATA by Verdi at the Met. That means less rehearsal time and preparation in general—but you could have fooled me and the rest of the audience at Wednesday’s performance. She was in tiptop shape, after a bit of warming up, as if she’d been working in this production every day of her life. She doesn’t make her way to New York very often, but it’s certainly a welcome visit.
