23rd Annual Nutcracker Ballet at Wynona Thompson Auditorium

Join us for a LIVE full length Nutcracker Ballet set to Tchaikovsky's famous score. Choreography, sets, and lighting are all original, led by professionals in their field. Along with a cast of more than one hundred dancers and children from our local community and surrounding areas, RMDT is proud to announce the return of Randy Pacheco and Sasha Vincett as this seasons guest artists. Soloists with Ballet Arizona, they will perform the roles of Sugar Plum and Cavalier in this 23rd annual production produced by nonprofit performing arts organization; Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre.
RMDT's production of the Nutcracker brings the classic Nutcracker tale to life. It is a magical night about an enchanted Christmas Party where Clara is the guest of honor. After the party, the audience is witness to Clara's vivid dreams about her Nutcracker who comes to her rescue and then brings her to a magical land of dancing snowflakes and sugar treats.
*Due to the current Wyoming COVID regulations, The Nutcracker will have limited occupancy. RMDT did ask for an exemption from the current occupancy rule of 250, asking for an occupancy of 400 at the Wynona Thompson Auditorium, but we were denied. This means we will have to adhere to the occupancy rule of 250. This is less than 1/3 of the capacity of the Wynona Thompson Auditorium. As you can imagine, the financial effects of such a limited number is immense. We added two performances this year, equaling four, but unfortunately, adding performances increases costs. It does not lower costs. These are unprecedented times for all and as a nonprofit charity, RMDT is adapting in the best ways we can to make our yearly Nutcracker performance possible.
