The University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance is set to offer The Cherry Orchard. The Cherry Orchard runs in the Masquer Theatre of the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center on campus February 28-March 3 and March 6-10 at 7:30 p.m.

About the show: In The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov’s final full-length play, the impoverished Ranevskaya family is unable to face the fact that their estate is about to be auctioned off. A local merchant presents numerous options to save it, including cutting down their prized cherry orchard. The family is stricken with denial, incapable of agreeing to or rejecting any of the possibilities. The Cherry Orchard charts the abrupt descent of a wealthy Russian family and, with a fresh adaptation by another master of the stage, creates a bold meditation on social change.
