This collection of monologues and original songs, directed by Will Dickerson and featuring music by Rob Eastman, is a humorous and powerful evening of theatrical storytelling that has Michael inhabiting and depicting a range of characters, including demolition derby drivers, pro wrestling school drop-outs, and other ragged dreamers."The Queen of Bakersfield... offers a welcome return to the American folk tradition of storytelling... the stories themselves and the telling of them in the Queen of Bakersfield make for exciting theater: an evening that looms larger than life."
