Alpine Theatre Project's Broadway Summer Training Camp Presents SINGIN' IN THE RAIN JR.

By: Jul. 23, 2018

One of the greatest movie musicals of all time comes to life on stage performed by the students of Alpine Theatre Project's Broadway Summer Training Camp, presented by Don K Subaru. The camp culminates in a performance of the classic musical comedy, Singin in the Rain Jr on July 27, 28, & 29 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

This marks the second year of the Summer Training Camp, designed to provide local students with an in-depth look at just what it takes to successfully perform in musical theatre. Over the course of 3 weeks, 34 local students between the ages of 10-18 work on a full musical production. The students also have an opportunity to learn from Alpine Theatre Project's professional Broadway artists.

"Theatre education is now a major part of what Alpine Theatre Project does," says ATP Co-Founder, Luke Walrath. "We're honored to give our students a chance to work 1-on-1 with some of Broadway's best actors all while working on one of my favorite shows of all time."

The "Greatest Movie Musical of All Time" is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin' in the Rain JR. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin' in the Rain JR. a guaranteed good time. In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

Singin in the Rain Jr, part of ATP's Broadway Summer Training Camp presented by Don K Whitefish, runs July 27 at 7pm, July 28 at 2pm & 7pm, and July 29 at 4pm at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $18 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under, and can be ordered by calling 862-SHOW (7469) or visiting atpwhitefish.org.
