Concert version
Gaetano Donizetti already triumphed at the Théâtre des Italiens with works such as Anna Bolena , Lucia di Lammermoor and Marino Faliero but it still lacked the recognition of the "big shop", namely the Royal Academy of Music. This was done in 1840 with the creation of La Favorite , first to the French grand opera composer Bergamo. Despite a reception on the evening of the first, the book is the culmination of the presence of Donizetti in Paris: it will be the Italian composer most played in the capital between 1835 and 1845. Favourite The experience nearly 700 performances in Opera until 1918, when the vocal demands of the score and the changing tastes of the public in favor of verismo and Wagnerian directories the plunge into relative obscurity. Other countries such as Italy and Spain remain at this majestic directory structure in the Italian version. Juan Diego Florez chose the Monte Carlo to address the role of Ferdinand, written for Gilbert Duprez, the creator Arnold of William Tell by Rossini. This role prerogative of the greatest bel canto tenors, should represent a major milestone in the career of the Peruvian tenor.
