Theatre in the Round Players presents the area premiere of The Burial at Thebes in weekend performances February 12th through March 7th.  Irish poet and Nobel Prize winning author Seamus Heaney wrote this new adaptation of the Greek tragedy Antigone.  When Creon, the king, refuses to bury her traitorous brother, Antigone defies him and takes the law into her own hands.  This short but powerful staging features a striking version of a wise Chorus, and vivid, poetic writing.

Rob Goudy directs a cast featuring Julie Kurtz as Antigone and Seth Patterson as Creon.  Sets are designed by Amber WR Miller, with costumes by K. Sheree Mason and lighting by Nicole Fierce.  A discussion with Goudy and members of the cast will follow the February 28th performance.

Tickets are $20 with discounted tickets of $10 for students and seniors on Fridays and Sundays.  For additional information, call the theater's box office at 612-333-3010 or visit its website at www.theatreintheround.org.
