Canadian pianist Sophia Liu, 17, performs as part of The Gilmore's Rising Stars Series. Her program includes works by Alkan, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Balakirev. Sophia was raised in Japan before moving to Montréal to study with Dang Thai Son, and has won prizes at competitions including the Ettlingen International Piano Competition and Thomas & Evon Cooper International Competition.
