Theatre Nova Announces First Fundraiser
Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor's professional playwrights' theater, announces the release of the long-awaited (and much-requested) cast recording of its hit musical "Irrational" by R. MacKenzie Lewis and David Wells. Lewis and Wells will join cast members, and the show's director Carla Milarch for a CD release party at the theater's home, The Yellow Barn, on Friday November 18th at 7:30 pm. The party is also the theatre's first ever fundraiser. The show, which premiered at Nova in April 2016, won "Best New Script" in the statewide theatre excellence awards, the Wilde Awards.
Attendees will join award-winning playwright and composer David Wells and R. MacKenzie Lewis as they sign first edition copies of the CD, mingle with cast and crew members of the show, enjoy a strolling buffet and wine bar, get an exclusive viewing of Theatre Nova's production video, and be the first to hear about its 2017 season!
Proceeds from the event will support Theatre Nova's innovative pay-what-you-can ticketing program, which provides affordable tickets for patrons of all economic backgrounds. Artistic Director Carla Milarch says "We firmly believe that people from all walks of life should be able to experience the excitement of live theater and that the most critical thing we can do is to overcome the economic barriers that keep that from happening. Buying a ticket to this exciting event will literally put a theater ticket in the hands of someone who could not otherwise afford it."
There are multiple ticket levels for this event:
• Regular tickets are $35 and include a complimentary CD, and a tax-deduction of $10
• Donor tickets are $50 and include a complimentary CD, and a tax-deduction of $25
• Sponsor tickets are $100 and include a complimentary CD, liner note recognition, and a tax-deduction of $75
