Planet Ant Theatre will welcome the 2013 winner of Box Fest Detroit, Kennikki Jones-Jones to direct its next Late Night Series production The Algorithm, an original one-act play debuting Friday, January 31 with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 9:00pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm through February 16. The evolution of technology has enveloped enough power to harness a steady stream of energy with which to capture Satan. Three mysterious individuals have the opportunity to interrogate him. They have only a short time to discover how he wreaks havoc and chaos upon all of us.
Directed by 2013 Detroit Box Fest winner Kennikki Jones-Jones (Detroit), The Algorithm is written by Jones-Jones and Edmund Alyn Jones and features Joshua Brown (Brownstown), Emily Goodson (Bloomington, IN), Anthony Head Jr. (Detroit), JeLani Kamal (Detroit), Michael Lopetrone (Sterling Heights) and Ramona Lucious (Detroit), with stage management by Callie Sadler (Macomb Twp). Throughout this season Planet Ant presents a late night Saturday show featuring a rotating schedule of improvisation. The schedule includes the improv troupe One Quarter Bruce, a variety show starring Dustin Gardner and The Ant Hill, a live storytelling show hosted by Mike McGettigan. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Planet Ant also continues to present Improv Mondays every Monday evening at 8:00 pm. Planet Ant has been home to some of the best improvisers to come out of Metro Detroit. In its thirteen years, the Planet Ant Improv Colony has generated over twenty original comedies and continues to perform every Monday night in Michigan's longest-running improv comedy show - Improv Mondays. At 8:00 pm the show kicks off with a guest improv troupe followed by a performance by Planet Ant's resident Home Team. The night closes with The Ant Jam , an opportunity for anyone to improvise on the Planet Ant stage. Tickets are $5 at the door.
