Getting ahead in life is easy when you follow a "How To" manual. The Farmington Players will wrap up the season with the hit Broadway musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, tonight, April 24th-May 16th in Farmington Hills. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the cast!
J. Pierpont Finch is obsessed with climbing the corporate ladder. Thanks to a series of unorthodox and questionable business practices and the help of a "How To" manual, he rises from a meager window washer to the top of the World Wide Wicket Company.
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is directed by Brian Tupper of Farmington Hills and sponsored by TruVista Wealth Advisors. The musical is by Frank Loesser with the book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert. It's based on Shepherd Mead's 1952 book of the same name. The show hit Broadway in 1961 and six years later became a Hollywood movie.
Jason Wilhoite of Commerce Township shines as Finch, who transforms from rags to riches, as he soars corporate heights that reach much higher than the windows he washes. It's a role made famous by Robert Morse (on Broadway and in the film) and later played by Matthew Broderick and Daniel Radcliffe. The part typically demands some "A-game" vocals, and Wilhoite as a trained singer certainly works his magic.
