Peter Karrie to Bring A PHANTOM RETURNS to Charlotte Performing Arts Centre, 8/23

Following his second sold out summer concert tour in British Columbia Canada this summer, Peter Karrie will continue his "Phantom Returns" concert tour in Michigan! Joining Karrie on his tour in Michigan will be select students from the local Michigan communities including Charlotte, Olivet, Vermontville, Lake Odessa, and Hastings.

From August 19-23, Peter will offer a 4 day Masterclass where students will be led through an intensive and interactive workshop learning the basic principals and essential elements of musical theatre. The workshop is designed to strengthen students performance skills and abilities while getting a chance to perform with the West End star on stage during a live concert in their local community.

"These are the stars of tomorrow, but it is today they have to be on stage" he says. "These workshops give them a fantastic opportunity to test the waters and broaden their horizons. Whether they go into the arts as profession or just sing for fun, theatre will give them valuable skills, such as patience, humility, and work ethic which they'll use for the rest of their life", says Karrie.

The two act, 2.5 hour performance will feature numbers from The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar, Lion King, Aspects of Love, Little Shop of Horrors, and many more. "Everyone who enjoys musical theater will enjoy this concert as it is a comprehensive selection of some of the greatest musical compositions ever written plus some amusing anecdotal tales to accompany the actual performances, " boasts Karrie.

Peter Karrie is best known for his award-winning portrayal of Phantom in Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera in London, Toronto, Vancouver, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bradford, and Manchester. With over 2,750 performances as the masked man, Karrie has played the role more often than any other singer-actor.The Vancouver Sun described his performance in the role as "definitive". He has also been cast as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Che in Evita, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, and Daddy Warbucks in Annie.
