NPR and Olympia Entertainment will present a live performance of Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! from Detroit on Thursday, January, 19 at 7:30 p.m. The Peabody Award-winning radio show is NPR's weekly hour-long quiz show that will take to the stage at the historic Fox Theatre for a live performance being taped for national broadcast.

Thursday's show will broadcast on Saturday, January 21 at 10 a.m. on WDET 101.9 FM and at 11a.m. on Michigan Public Radio 91.7 FM, and throughout the weekend on NPR Member stations nationwide. The program is also available as streaming audio and a free podcast at www.npr.org/waitwait

Tickets ($38, $58 and $68) go on sale Friday, November 4 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com,  The Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charge) at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets by phone, call (800) 745-3000.  For additional information, call (313) 471-6611.

Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me! offers audiences a taste of NPR without the dignity. Host Peter Sagal, along with official judge and scorekeeper Carl Kasell, leads a rotating panel of comedians, humorists and journalists, listener contestants and celebrity guests through a comic review of the week's news. Contestants vie for the most coveted prize in all of public radio: a custom-recorded greeting by Kasell for their voicemail.

Each week, Sagal quizzes the panelists and listeners to determine just how closely they paid attention to the news. He serves up questions in all forms: lightning rounds, multiple choice, identify the "fake" stories, and fill-in-the-blank limericks. The show's "Not My Job" segment, when famous people are quizzed on subjects about which they know absolutely nothing, has attracted such names as President Barack Obama (okay, he was Senator Obama at the time…), Tom Hanks, Russell Simmons, and Stephen Colbert

Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me! has an audience of more than 3.2 million listeners weekly on 595 NPR member public radio stations. The show is produced by NPR and Chicago Public Radio; Doug Berman is Executive Producer.
