Media Day at Joe Louis Arena Features Olympic Ice Dancers, 9/23

Michigan-based ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the 2013 World champions, and Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani, the 2013 U.S. bronze medalists, will be available to the media for on-ice b-roll and interview opportunities from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, at Joe Louis Arena.

WHAT: Media Day at Joe Louis Arena

Athletes will be available in anticipation of the 2013 Hilton HHonors Skate America, which will be heldOct. 18-20, at Joe Louis Arena. Skate America is the first of six ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series events and is the first major event of the 2013-14 season, the highlight of which will be the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Skaters will offer the media a preview to the programs they have prepared for the season and be available for one-on-one interviews.

Both teams train under Marina Zoueva in Canton, Mich. Davis and White are Detroit-area natives, while Shibutani and Shibutani have called Ann Arbor home since 2007.

NOTE: This is the only time the teams will be available for b-roll and one-on-one interview opportunities prior to the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships (Jan. 5-12, 2014, in Boston). At Skate America, the teams will be available in group interview settings and limited practice b-roll can be shot.
