Katy Olsen Joins Meadow Brook Theatre as Development Director

By:

Katy Olsen CFRE, was recently named Development Director of Meadow Brook Theatre. Mrs. Olsen will be growing philanthropy for the theatre through gifts from individuals, grant funding and corporate contributions.

Mrs. Olsen, a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), comes to Meadow Brook after eight years at the Crittenton Foundation, where she served in a variety of roles including President and Major & Planned Gifts Officer. There she led the hospital's recent campaign, raising $12 million.

"Meadow Brook Theatre is a vibrant asset to the arts and culture community, extending beyond the Rochester area and impacting the dramatic arts regionally," said Mrs.Olsen. "It is exciting to be working with this incredibly talented team to ensure the future of the theatre."

"We're incredibly excited to have Katy join our staff," said Cheryl Marshall, Managing Director. "Fundraising is essential to our organization. Ticket sales only account for around 40 % of the theatre's operating budget and without donor support and fund raising, Meadow Brook Theatre couldn't continue its successful tenure as a cultural gem of Southeastern Michigan."

Since the first curtain call in 1967, Meadow Brook Theatre, Michigan's Largest Producing Professional Theatre, has relied on the support of community partners and philanthropy to produce Broadway quality productions.

Meadow Brook Theatre, a 501(c)3 organization, is located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. For donation information, and more information about the theatre please visit www.mbtheatre.com or call 248-377-3300.
