Fresh off their headlining North American tour in support of their platinum album Indestructible, Grammy-nominated hard-rock band Disturbed will launch the Music As A Weapon IV Tour-a music, tattoo, and lifestyle festival-presented by Samsung Mobile and powered by Sprint. Music As A Weapon IV Tour featuring Disturbed, with special guests Killswitch Engage, Lucuna Coil and Chimaira, will make a stop at Detroit's Cobo Arena at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2. Music festival and tattoo convention doors open at 2 p.m. in Wayne Hall inside Cobo Convention Center.

Although the Chicago quartet conceived Music As A Weapon in 2001 and have headlined the previous three tours, this is the first time that it has been expanded into a complete lifestyle festival. In addition to presenting the best in rock music, Music As A Weapon IV also features a collection of the greatest tattoo artists from around the country offering their talents to attendees in each city, including the world-famous Oliver Peck (seen on Miami Ink and Bam's Unholy Union on MTV), Las Vegas' Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company (founded by freestyle motocross legend Carey Hart). Attendees will also be able to check out an extreme sports complex where freestyle motocross, BMX, and Skate teams will perform, a Technology and Gaming Zone, and a Vendor Village, all for a fan-friendly ticket price.

"We really wanted to make sure fans attending Music As a Weapon this year got the most bang for their buck," says Disturbed frontman David Draiman, "so we decided to bring in the tattoo artists, the extreme sports complex, the gaming, and the vendor village to go beyond the usual live music experience and give the concerts the feel of a true event. Our feeling in expanding the festival was to give people Maximum Entertainment value. If they are going to part with their hard-earned money, we need to honor that and give them our all in return."

Disturbed will be joined on the 38-city, nine-week trek, which kicks off March 20th in Madison, WI, by Killswitch Engage on the main-stage, as well as Lacuna Coil and Chimaira.

"Samsung Mobile is excited to share the stage with this incredible lineup of bands and a great festival concept," says Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Mobile. "Samsung Mobile is dedicated to creating phones that let people be who they want to be. We believe that our sponsorship of Music As A Weapon is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our Samsung RantTM and Samsung HighNoteTM, two phones that you can personalize to work just the way you want." The Samsung RantTM and Samsung HighnoteTM are both available exclusively from Sprint. Customers can purchase the Rant and Highnote at Sprint retail stores, online at www.sprint.com or by calling 1-800-SPRINT1.

Music As A Weapon is produced by Disturbed and their manager Jeff Battaglia, along with industry veterans John Reese (President of Freeze Artist Management; co-founder and co-producer of Rockstar Taste Of Chaos Tour, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and the Collegiate Get A Life Tour) and Darryl Eaton (CAA booking agent; co-producer of the Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Taste Of Chaos Tour, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival) and Bill Hardie (Producer and Founder of Hootenanny, Musink and Spare The Air Festivals).

WWW.DiNGLIFE.COM will be launching promotions with the bands and tattoo artists and bringing attendees exclusive opportunities to customize their digital lifestyle and Samsung Mobile Phone. DiNG is the world's largest artist device customization portal. Over 150 devices and over 200 musical acts, including Disturbed and Killswitch Engage, are available at www.dinglife.com.

The Music As A Weapon IV Festival will begin at 2 p.m. daily in every city. Details about specific venues, confirmed traveling tattoo artists, sponsors and additional musical performers will be released in the coming weeks. Music As A Weapon is now taking submissions from tattoo artists and festival vendors. Go to www.musicasaweapon4.com for more information.
