Burt Bacharach Musical Comes to Meadow Brook Theatre In the musical Burt & Me, Joe and Lacey were high school sweethearts, but when they attended different colleges, they drifted apart. Years later, they meet again, and Joe decides to win Lacey back. All it will take is a clever plan, a little bit of luck and the songs of Burt Bacharach.

Burt & Me, with book by Larry McKenna, lyrics by Hal David and music by Burt Bacharach, runs May 30 through June 24 at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester.

"Everyone will know these songs," says Travis Walter, MBT artistic director, referring to the nearly 20 Burt Bacharach songs, including "Wishin' & Hopin'," "Close To You," and "I Say a Little Prayer."

"Bacharach's music takes us on a charming journey through the years with Joe and Lacey. I think people may be surprised at just how many Burt Bacharach songs they know," says Walter. "Burt & Me is the perfect way to close our season."

Joe is played by Tim Dolan and Darilyn Castillo is Lacey. Jason Williams and Allison Hunt-Kaufman play Jerry and Sally, as well as members of the ensemble. The cast is rounded out by Richard Marlatt, who plays George, Mrs. Bernstein, Father DeJoseph and a member of the ensemble, and Sara Kmiec and Brendan Lindberg, both in the ensemble.

Burt & Me is directed by Travis W. Walter, with music direction by Erich Rausch and choreography by Christopher George Patterson. Terry W. Carpenter is the stage manager with scenic design by Kristen Gribbin, costume design by Liz Goodall, light design by Matthew J. Fick and sound design by Mike Duncan.

Erich Rausch also conducts the band and plays piano. The rest of the band includes Chris Napier (trumpet), Ryan Crum (bass) and Nick Matthews (percussion).
