Broadway's Tom Wopat and Linda Purl to Play The Berman

By:

The Berman Center for The Performing Arts continues its Stars of Broadway Series with a wonderful evening of upbeat and jazzy tunes along with American standards, featuring Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat and "Best of New York" (New York Magazine) Linda Purl. The pair will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14.

Tom Wopat's warm, engaging baritone, lyrical phrasing and far-ranging interpretive skills have made him a favorite with audiences and critics alike. He received Tony nominations for his performances in "A Catered Affair" and "Annie Get Your Gun," and he also appeared on Broadway in "Sondheim on Sondheim," "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "42nd Street."

Wopat will be joined on stage by Linda Purl, a three-time Los Angeles Drama Critics' Choice best actress nominee. Praised by the Los Angeles Times as a "gifted song stylist," Purl enjoyed a recurring role as Helen Beasley on "The Office," and her New York stage credits include "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "Getting and Spending" and "The Baby Dance."

Tom Wopat & Linda Purl will perform on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $43. To purchase tickets, visit The Berman from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, or call 248.661.1900.
