HO-HO-HO! The popular holiday movie comes to life; A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL is making its West Michigan debut and canonly be found at GRAND RAPIDS CIVIC THEATRE, November 20 - December 20, 2015. Based on a story by Jean Shepherd and the motion picture A CHRISTMAS STORY (produced with the permission of Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Dalphie Entertainment), the show features book by Joseph Robinette and music & lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

This play is filled with the nostalgic moments you cherish: a major award, a tongue-stuck-on-a-flagpole, the Santa slide, the pink bunny suit and of course, the OFFICIAL RED RYDER Carbine Action Two Hundred Shot Range Air Rifle (with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time). Based on the popular holiday movie, A Christmas Story, Ralphie Parker takes the audience on a hilarious and extravagant journey fueled by his daydreams.

"The movie is a tradition in many households." says community relations director, Nancy Brozek. "The story resonates because it is filled with the joys of childhood; a time when days are fueled by hopes, dreams and just simply believing. West Michigan families who see this Tony-nominated Best Musical are in for a magical experience that will not soon be forgotten."

Executive and artistic director Bruce Tinker agrees, "This show has it all: from flashy production numbers to heartfelt ballads, and of course dancing lamps. It is very funny, but also wonderfully poignant. We know what it is like to be that desperately hopeful child or the desperately frazzled adult trying to create memories and honor traditions like we do at no other time of the year."

A Christmas Story, the Musical, runs from November 20 - December 20, with special Thanksgiving pricing for the November 25th and 26th performances. Ticket Prices: $18 - $35. For information on the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre or to purchase tickets, call 616-222-6650 or visit www.GRCT.org.
