Six unemployed guys. No cash. No prospects. No luck. What's a guy to do? The Waterfront Playhouse presents the Broadway smash-hit musical "The Full Monty," running February 25 to March 19. "The Full Monty" is directed by artistic director, Danny Weathers, with musical direction by Michael Fauss and choreography by Penny Leto - the same team behind the Waterfront hits, "Reefer Madness" and "Urinetown." The show features a cast of twenty, with a five piece band. The production is sponsored by "Conch Color" with the opening night party sponsored by Nikki McCausland and Bill Bradford. The 70th season sponsors are Comcast, Digital Island Media and El Meson de Pepe.

"The Full Monty" is set in Buffalo, New York, where the local steel mill has just folded. Buddies Jerry and Dave have been laid off and are struggling to survive. After seeing the wildly enthusiastic reactions of their wives and girlfriends to a Chippendale's style troupe, Jerry comes up with the idea of doing a one-night performance to make some quick money. He hires four other unemployed factory workers for the act and names their troupe, "Hot Metal." Unfortunately, the initial rehearsals are anything but hot. And who wants to see a bunch of "regular" guys strip anyway? To boost ticket sales, Jerry announces they will outdo the Chippendale's and go "the full monty." But do they have the....nerve?

"The Full Monty" sizzles with heat and heart as the guys overcome their fears, their left feet and their clothes. In the process, they discover renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. Their journey is hilarious, poignant and ultimately triumphant. The New York Times called the 2009 production, "Exhilarating...sweet and lively. The timing couldn't be more apt."

"The Full Monty" took Broadway by storm, running for over 800 performances and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards. The cheeky and touching book is by Terrence McNally (a part-time resident of Key West) and features a toe-tapping score with witty lyrics by David Yazbek.

"The Full Monty" features an impressive cast of Key West favorites and new faces. Playing the six men of "Hot Metal" are Michael McCabe (Jerry), David Black (Dave), Joe McMurray (Harold), Eric Cole (Ethan) and guest actors, Kennedy Pugh (Horse) and Marc Crow (Malcolm). Robin Deck has returned to Key West to play Jeanette, the guys' hilariously salty piano player. Playing the wives and girlfriends are Laurie Breakwell (Vicki), Traci (Reynolds), Mary Falconer (Pam), Nulita Loder (Estelle), Amy Pesola (Susan) and Johanna Hardardottir (Joanie). Cannon Starnes will play the professional stripper, Keno, a role he played in the National Tour. Jerry and Pam's son is played by Key West students Harley Douvier and Brock Guzman, who will alternate performances. Playing a multiple line-up of characters will be Justin Ahearn, Marshall Cochrane, Victor Lopez and Bill Rivera.

The orchestra members are Michael Fauss (musical director and keyboards), Chris Burchard (electric guitar), Jim Wist (bass) and Max Zemanovic (drums/percussion).

The set will be by the Waterfront's set designer Michael Boyer, lighting design by Kim Hanson, costumes by Leigh Hooten, sound by Allen Gallant, props by Carmen Rodriguez and stage management by Lisa Alderdice.

Tickets are selling very quickly. There are only 17 performances, and many performances will likely sell-out. Call 305-294-5015, or go to waterfrontplayhouse.org to purchase tickets online. Check out the Friday Night Special; however, please be aware that on closing night Friday, March 19, all tickets will be the regular ticket price of $35.
