The Women's Theatre Project Kicks-Off New Performance Space with Florida Premiere - Memory House by Kathleen Tolan
The Women's Theatre Project has moved their 2006-2007 season to the Cooper City Theatre, beginning in August. Commemorating the move is the Florida Premiere of Kathleen Tolan's Memory House, directed by Genie Croft (Artistic Director of The Women's Theatre Project.) This show marks the eighth local premiere for the professional theatre company. The production stars veteran actress Sally Bondi, (most recently seen in The Normal Heart at Public Theatre,) and New World School of the Arts drama student, Katie Middleton. ABOUT THE PLAY:"What's in your memory house?" is a seemingly innocuous college entrance essay question that sparks the fire of this poignant play about the relationship between a mother and her adopted daughter. As they prepare to embark on separate lives, both are in search of their own identity. Bittersweet and complex, Memory House explores timeless questions about love and independence. It is a wryly funny and recognizable mother-daughter drama that also examines the ethical ramifications of international adoption. Memory House opened Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons earlier this year and starred Oscar winning actress, Dianne Wiest.FALL IN LOVE TODAY! ADOPT A PET FROM YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER
