Two of the most successful artists in the world of contemporary jazz, guitarist Peter White and saxophonist Euge Groove join forces for a performance this August in White Summer Hot Grooves. Previously collaborating on songs such as "Rain Down on Me" and "Another Perfect Moment" among others, White and Groove each bring a distinctive style to their instrument of choice.

The jazz fusion musician and Lyric Theatre favorite, Peter White, has maintained a reputation as one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists on the contemporary jazz landscape. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy, he combines elements of jazz, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience. White is best known for collaborating with Al Stewart for 20 years, where the two opened for artists like Queen, Billy Joel, and Linda Ronstadt. Al Stewart was drawn to White for his ability to adapt to a wide range of musical styles, yet maintain a distinctive voice. Peter White co-wrote some of Stewart's most timeless hits, including the 1978 top-ten composition "Time Passages." Beginning in the early 1990s, Peter White began his solo career, with songs such as "Midnight in Manhattan" and "Bright" reaching #1 on the Billboard Jazz Songs chart. Throughout his impressive career, White has earned a variety of awards, including three Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards and winning Best Guitarist for four consecutive years at the National Smooth Jazz Awards from 2000 to 2003. His latest album, Groovin', was released in October of 2016. His third album of covers, Groovin' features songs from the 1950s to the 1980s, from Otis Redding's "Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay" to Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do."

Saxophonist Steve Grove, who goes by the pseudonym Euge Groove, has been playing music since he was in second grade when he started on the piano. By age 10, the aspiring musician had embraced the sax as his instrument of choice. He became interested in jazz studying music at the University of Miami's School of Music. Euge Groove played in bands in Miami including the group Expose, whose #1 hit "Seasons Change" featured a highly memorable sax solo by Groove. Later, the musician moved to LA and joined the group Tower of Power, where he stayed for four years. Afterward he performed in a variety of back up bands and session recordings, playing with artists such as Elton John, Aaron Neville, Joe Cocker, and Bonnie Raitt. Shortly after appearing on the Richard Marx Top 20 Pop hit "Keep Coming Back" in 1991, Steve Grove adopted his now famous pseudonym. Following his debut album in May of 2000, Euge Groove toured in Tina Turner's band while continuing to record solo work. In 2016, Groove released his tenth solo project, Still Euge. He says: "Still represents me being able to be me!" Some of Groove's top hits over the years include "Sneak A Peek," "Slam Dunk," and "Rewind."

This time, the two are back this summer, giving audiences a chance to experience a White Summer Hot Grooves!
