THE LEGENDARY BOBBY DARIN Tribute Event Returnsto Salerno Theatre, 1/13-21

By:

The Salerno Entertainment Group and Salerno Theatre, in association with the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center and Center Place Brandon, are pleased to announce the return of the smash hit theatrical tribute concert event, THE LEGENDARY BOBBY DARIN.

Darin was one of the most popular rock and roll teen idols of the late ‘50s, being one of the premier song stylists of the 1950s. His career took off in 1958 when he wrote and recorded ‘Splish Splash;” this song was an instant hit, selling more than a million copies. In 1959, Bobby Darin recorded “Dream Lover,” a ballad that became a multi-million seller. Propelled by the success of “Mack the Knife” (1959) and “Beyond the Sea” (1960), he broke attendance records at the legendary Copacabana, surpassing Frank Sinatra. Moving into the pop mainstream and nightclub circuit, his astounding career (4 gold records) continued almost unabated through the 1960s.

Touring since 2006 and recognized by the Official Bobby Darin Fan Club for his tribute to the legend, MICHAEL MATHEWS stars as Bobby Darin in this multimedia live tribute concert event which returns to the Tampa Bay area for the first time since 2007.

THE LEGENDARY BOBBY DARIN also features rare video footage and interviews of Bobby Darin, Sandra Dee and more! Also starring and some of Florida’s finest professional entertainers and dancers!
