The acclaimed musical revue by masterful and legendary Stephen Sondheim

Opens July 6^th at Palm Beach Dramaworks 

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will present "Side by Side by Sondheim" -- the celebrated musical revue featuring 30 songs by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim – as their summer musical offering, opening on Friday, July 6^th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard).   A special priced preview performance is slated for Thursday, July 5^th at 8PM.  The production will play through August 26^th. 

Performed by a cast of three and a narrator, Side by Side by Sondheim combines fascinating musical theatre background and biographical tidbits along with hit musical numbers including: "If Mama Was Married" (from Gypsy), "Broadway Baby" (from Follies), "Comedy Tonight" (from A Funny Thing…), "A Boy Like That" (from West Side Story), and "Side by Side by Side" (from Company). The revue features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; with music by Jule Styne, Leonard Bernstein, Mary Rodgers and Richard Rodgers and continuity by NEd Sherrin. 

Side by Side by Sondheim will reunite the stage and musical direction players of J. Barry Lewis and Craig D. Ames, the same team whom Palm Beach audiences will remember from their unforgettable contributions for the Carbonell award-winning production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well in Living in Paris. Directed by Mr. Lewis, the cast will include Anna McNeely, three- time Carbonell award-winner Terrell Hardcastle, and Cecilia Torres. New to the Palm Beach area, Ms. McNeely originated roles in the Broadway productions of Cats and Beauty and the Beast as well as appeared in the revival productions of Gypsy and Little Johnny Jones. Mr. Ames will serve as musical director, pianist and narrator.  The musical will feature sets designed by Michael Amico, costumes designed by Erin Amico and lights designed by John Hall.  Kretzer Piano president  Kathi Kretzer will serve as Executive Producer for the production. 

Performance times are Wednesday through Saturdays at 8PM with matinees on Saturday and Sundays at 2PM. Individual tickets are $40 for evening performances and $38 for matinees.  Group rates for 20 or more, and discounted season subscriptions are also available. The theatre is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, at 322 Banyan Boulevard, between Dixie Highway and Olive Avenue, Florida 33401.   Parking is offered across the street for a nominal fee, or in the City Garage on the corner of Olive Avenue and Banyan Boulevard for $1.00 per hour with the first hour free!
